Jack Nichols
Husband, father, photographer. Connoisseur of Type II Fun. North American record holder for lowest elevation extreme ironing. Often alone in the woods at night.
I'm based in Bothell, Washington, just outside of Seattle, but I travel often.
My passion is night sky photography, in particular nightscapes that marry the beauty of the night sky with the stunning landscapes that frame it. The world after dark is a place that's rich with storytelling opportunities, and I love seeking them out. My goal is to produce imagery that sticks with you, long after you've seen it.
I also love showcasing the beauty of the natural world around us, and our relationship with nature. Often for me that means seeking out hard-to-reach places in the backcountry of the Pacific Northwest and beyond to showcase the best of the great outdoors. But sometimes, beauty can be found close to home, and I spend lots of early mornings at ordinary places trying to create something cool.
I love the Pacific Northwest, but try to travel as much as I can with my family. Banff in particular is a special place for my family and I.
Making compelling pictures is the reward for me, but I'm always interested in working with like-minded creative folks on a wide variety of projects. I'd love to hear about what you have in mind!
